The olive groves

When the farm was purchased in 1929, around 60 olive trees were already present on the farm, Gabriele Senior planted other olive trees in the 1930s and 1940s until he reached the number of 120. The olive grove had the sole purpose of producing the oil for family consumption.
In 1999, with the specialization to olive farm, the first 3 hectares were planted with the Monicella variety (original variety of Valle Roveto in the province of L'Aquila), in 2000 the leccino variety was introduced with the planting of about 1, 15 hectares. In 2004 with an olive grove area of 4.15 hectares, the conversion to organic farming was carried out, pursuing the principle of maximum healthiness of the foods produced with maximum respect for the environment. In 2005 the first 5 hectares of Ortice were planted, a typical variety of Sannio in the Benevento area. In 2008 another 2.3 hectares of the Ortice variety were planted. In January 2016, with the planting of 2.5 hectares in Ortice, the investment of the entire company UAA in olive trees was completed.
In 2015, bottling and labeling began with four different product lines, three monovarietal oils ORTICE, LECCINO, MONICELLA and a blend.
