Producer prices are not retail prices
The IOC recorded €565/100 kg in Bari in the week of 18–24 May 2026, down 41.8% year on year. Jaén stood at €378.5/100 kg in the week of 15–21 June, up 7.5%. The Bari value was about 49% higher, but the observation weeks differ.
These are bulk producer prices before packaging, logistics, taxes, distribution and retail margins. They cannot be used as a direct benchmark for a bottle on a shop shelf.

World production is forecast above consumption
The IOC's 2025/26 estimate put world olive oil production at 3.44 million tonnes, down 4%, and consumption at 3.248 million tonnes, up 1%. The provisional Italian figure for 2024/25 was 248,000 tonnes, 25% below the previous crop year.
International demand remained active
Across selected major markets, olive oil imports rose 4.3% between October 2025 and March 2026. Brazil's imports increased 40.5% over the same six-month comparison; virgin olive oils represented 85% of its 2024/25 imports.
